The village of Samat, located in the Batken region near the town of Razzakov and bordering Tajikistan, faces a severe shortage of clean drinking water.

Project Background

The rural infrastructure fails to meet the local population's water needs. This situation negatively impacts public health and the overall level of sanitation in the region. Local authorities have expressed keen interest in addressing this issue within the framework of the project.

Project Objectives & Goals

The main goal of the project is to ensure sustainable access to safe drinking water for the population of Samat village, as well as to introduce modern sanitation and hygiene standards in the project area through community training.The role of the CAMP Alatoo PF is to coordinate the project. The organization takes charge of implementing infrastructure construction activities, engaging with local communities, and conducting education and training sessions.

Project Result

Infrastructure Upgrades: Conducting construction and rehabilitation works to improve the water supply system, including the construction of a new water reservoir.

Hygiene Education: Delivering educational training sessions on hygiene practices to raise public awareness and improve the health of residents.

Border Cooperation: Strengthening cross-border cooperation through water resource management to mitigate potential conflicts and foster stronger ties between communities.

Disaster Risk Reduction: Implementing approaches aimed at reducing natural risks.
