Energy efficiency

CAMP Alatoo is a pioneering force in the development and dissemination of innovative energy-efficient solutions. We also provide training for masters in home insulation and facilitate access to financing for home insulation in rural areas. The Foundation has established production of energy-efficient and clean stoves and low-pressure boilers, the "Zhalyn", on the basis of a workshop opened in Bishkek in 2020. Thanks to the mini-production concept, the cost of stoves has been reduced, which allows the population to benefit from affordable technologies. The Foundation also fulfils the objectives and functions of raising awareness among rural communities about sustainable energy use and generation.

Energy efficiency plays a key role in mitigating conflicts over natural resources by providing alternative ways to meet needs without overexploiting limited resources.

Approaches:

  • Reduction of energy consumption through the development and utilisation of solar, wind and hydro power generation.
  • Improving energy efficiency in agriculture on the basis of energy-saving technologies.
  • Improving the efficiency of resource utilisation by introducing energy-efficient technologies for waste recycling and reuse.
  • Call for a transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy technologies for mountain communities.
